I'm wanting to do this because I recently bought and installed a replacement TCU for my SMG - one that's flashed to the EuroSpec - and I've read many places that a clutch adaption is recommended when replacing the SMG TCU. Ok, I've been searching and reading for so many hours, I think my eyes are either going to be permanently crossed or at least one will end up becoming a lazy eye, LOL! I've got a 2010 E60 M5 that I'm trying to do a clutch adaption for my SMG in. Howdy all, (this is probably gonna be rather lengthy, since I believe I have the best chance of actually having knowledgeable people read this and maybe help solve my problem.so I wanna provide as much detail of what I have and what I've tried) Has anybody tried to tap into the I-bus without connecting the NTSC lead?

Did anybody of the solder iron wizards try to "merge" the I-bus into the OBD-II connector inside the car? I mean, using the I-bus line that runs behind the dash for nav, LCM, IKE and such and bridge it to primary and secondary K-lines? Or maybe using some free pins in the female 16 pin connector, and wiring them thru a little switch inside the casing of the OBDII cable, so you can use NAV Coder with the same cable? I do have a question that AFAIK no one has asked before. I did read this thread several times so my first post won't be asking about something that has been beaten to death.

I don't complain as I got it cheap, the previous owner was very straight about the condition of the car. Later on I reworked them heads a little, took out the clogged cats, replaced oxygen sensors, replaced a couple of misfiring under heavy load coilpacks, you know the drill, "sorting out a poorly maintained car" type of deal. The car runs and drives great, the engine was replaced at an official dealer and it's a 4.6 shortblock under the OEM double vanos heads and all. My car is a 8/99 built 540i and over the years it has been serviced by a couple of less than dependable indys that left half coded replaced modules, incomplete and mismatched language version modules and whatnot. I'm about to retry ignition detection after bridging pin 16 to 1 inside the blue modded cable, and still have to try the 20 pin bridging (pin 2 to 17 and 20) Just finished tiding up the adaptations on the blue vag cable that he used, dissed all the soft he provides and got me virtual machines.

The guy also offers a "easy install soft package" that's a nightmare. I recently got one of those blue romania cables that was a mess, poorly soldered gooo covered resistors and transistor over the FTDI square chip, etc etc. Just wanted to thank you all for this invaluable piece of writeup. New member here, this is officially my first post.
